Le Water Store is a family-owned water refill business with three locations in Fremont and Newark, California. This policy explains what we collect on this website, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to satisfy the California Online Privacy Protection Act (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code §§ 22575–22579).

What we collect

Your phone number, if you look up a prepaid balance

Our prepaid gallon plans are tracked by phone number. If you enter yours into the balance checker on our homepage, we send those ten digits to our own server to look up the matching account and return your remaining gallons and recent activity. We do not ask for your name, address, email, or payment details on this website.

Basic technical information

Like most websites, our host records standard request data such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visit. We use a privacy-focused analytics tool that counts page views and button clicks (for example, tapping a store's phone number) so we know which parts of the site are useful. It does not build an advertising profile of you.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your personal information. We never have.
• We do not text or call you because you used the balance checker. We would need your separate written permission first, and we would ask for it plainly.
• We do not require an account, a password, or an email address to use this site.

Who else receives information

A small number of service providers process data on our behalf so the site can function: our web host, our database provider (which stores prepaid balances), our analytics provider, and Google, which serves the fonts and the embedded maps you see on our location pages. Loading a Google Map or a Google-hosted font lets Google receive your IP address. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policy.

Third-party tracking across sites

CalOPPA requires us to say whether third parties may collect personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you visit ours. The embedded Google Maps and Google-hosted fonts described above are capable of this. We do not currently run any advertising or retargeting pixels on this website. If that changes, we will update this policy and change the date at the top before the change takes effect.

Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is still no common industry standard for how to interpret it, so this website does not currently respond to those signals. We also do not permit third parties to collect personally identifiable information about your activity across other sites through any advertising tools of ours, because we do not run any.

How long we keep things

Prepaid balance records are business records and are kept for as long as the account is active. Server and analytics logs are kept for a short period and then discarded on a rolling basis.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about your prepaid account, ask us to correct it, or ask us to close the account and delete it. Call any of our stores or use the contact details on our contact page. Because the account is keyed to a phone number, we may ask you to confirm details of recent purchases before making changes.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change, we will revise the date at the top of this page and post the updated policy here before the change takes effect.
